De Cel Speciale Technieken van het Departement Stedenbouw is belast met de ontwikkeling en de studie van projecten rond elektrische, sanitaire en verwarmingsinstallaties in de gebouwen van de Stad en met de opvolging van de werfdossiers rond deze projecten.
De cel volgt ook de werfdossiers op met betrekking tot speciale technieken die opgenomen zijn in algemene stedenbouwkundige dossiers en die deel uitmaken van het onderhoud en de herstelling van de hierboven vernoemde installaties.
Ook het onderhoud en het technisch beheer van de stadsfonteinen valt onder de verantwoordelijkheden van deze cel.
