System Engineer - Robotic Systems Development

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our growing team! A successful candidate will be responsible for design and documentation of Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) system solutions to our Operating Units globally for a wide variety of markets including food & beverage, banking, e-commerce, etc. Systems Engineers in Robotic Systems Development will interact with our product managers, strategy teams, systems engineering of other R&D departments, and internal project team members to ensure all are on track to achieve the same goal; one that will help our customers succeed in moving their products and business forward.

  • Tasks and Qualifications:

    Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the design, development, application and implementation of hardware and software systems.
  • Performs full range of standard work for the professional field.
  • Identifies and resolves complex problems and applies problem-solving skills in order to deal with most situations.
  • Responsible for the elicitation of system requirements to match our customers’ requirements.
  • Drive the standardization of our systems architecture including relevant interfaces to allow for maximum synergies of our solutions while providing the needed specifications for our implementation and testing teams.
  • Completes the design of complex stand alone and integrated Automatic Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems that integrate hardware and software.
  • Performs complex technical interchange and knowledge transfer for both processes and application of products to system design.
  • Develop and Review Project/Component Specification Documentation.
  • Utilize functional modelling tools like SysML modelers to document our architecture approaches using MBSE (model-base systems engineering) methods.
  • Work with Operating Units on Full System Design, Approval, and Acceptance.
  • Create vendor and sub-contractor requirements and tasks.
  • Perform System Emulation Analysis and Review.
  • Assist in Project and Contract Negotiations.
  • Aid Project Management in Commissioning Plans and Schedules.
  • Participate in Company ISO Quality Processes.
  • Completes recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction.
  • Experience/Degree Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or related field.
  • 2-5 years engineering experience.
  • 3-5 years applications experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with material handling equipment systems.
  • Application knowledge of MBSE tools (SysML), Requirements Engineering tools like DOORS, PTC RV&S, or Siemens Teamcenter, Microsoft Office; SW programming experience is a plus,.
  • Experience/Skill Preferred:

  • Experience in Material Handling Automation equipment, preferably AGVs, Pallet Conveyor, Industrial Trucks, and/or AS/RS.
  • Experience in WMS, WCS, or Control Level Software.
  • Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments.
  • Successfully applies complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues.
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Self-starter who will take initiative to identify issues and pursue resolutions.
  • Must work well under high-pressure situations.
  • Architectural knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and software products.
  • Detailed-oriented.
  • Quality-oriented and customer-focused.
  • Self-motivated.
