
Field Technician Mechanical
The Big Picture:
We are a growing company specialising in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of rotating industrial machinery, both electrical and mechanical. These include electric motors, pumps, gearboxes, generators, steam turbines, turbochargers, piston compressors and expanders. We operate at the customer’s premises or in one of our sites.
We are now looking for a supervisor who will be in charge of the Service Technicians and the Electrics and Mechanics. Your employees go on-site to overhaul machines at the customer's premises or -if more thorough maintenance is required- disassemble the machines so that maintenance or repair of the machine can be done in the workshop. You ensure a good working climate in which the employees are motivated to achieve the required objectives.
What needs to be done?
You check whether the work can be done safely and you make the accompanying documents in order
You perform overhauls and repairs
You disassemble machines for maintenance or repair in the workshop. This concerns pumps, fans, blowers, gearboxes, ... In short: all mechanical equipment
In case of disassembly you will, after the necessary drawings, dismantle the machine and prepare it for transport
After the revision or repair in the workshop you will install and align the machine again on-site
You keep the customer up-to-date about the steps that will be taken
You make up time reports and report on mechanical measurements
You ensure a safe and healthy working environment within the maintenance service with attention to well-being and the environment
What do you need to bring?
You have passion for your job and are interested in the latest developments in your domain
You have a service- and customer-oriented attitude
You are a team player, but can also work well independently
Your work is always precise and you are strong in organising your own work
You can handle variable work pressure with sporadic overtime and weekend work
You always strive to work safely and value quality
You have a degree of higher secondary education in a technical direction (or equivalent through experience)
You have a broad theoretical technical knowledge in the field of pumping techniques
You have knowledge of rotating machines (steam turbines, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, etc.)
You have also gained experience in the alignment of directly coupled machines
Do you have a basic knowledge of mounting and dismounting bearings? That is a plus
You have experience in managing people
You do not have a 9-5 mentality if the work at a customer's is delayed or if certain matters are expected at the weekend
You have a driving licence B
You can express yourself well in English and preferably also in Dutch, both verbally and in writing
You can work with the most common software systems (Outlook, Word, Excel)
