The Opportunity

In this crucial leadership role, you will shape and drive the AI/ML vision of our organization, paving the way for breakthrough advancements in our service offerings and operations. This role calls for a blend of technical prowess, strategic thinking, and team leadership.
The Director will lay the groundwork for our AI/ML infrastructure, while focusing on the development of solutions in predictive analytics, natural language processing (NLP), generative AI, and computer vision. Furthermore, you will establish the organization as an internal AI service provider, enabling business units to consume AI services in a citizen development model. You'll have a significant impact on our business trajectory and will be a driving force in transforming us into an AI-powered organization within the next three years.
The position will collaborate with C-Level executives and key stakeholders to develop and improve our AI capabilities.

What we’re looking for

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, AI or a related field. A PhD will be a plus.
  • Experience: At least 6 years of professional experience in AI/ML with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role overseeing AI/ML teams.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive AI/ML roadmap that aligns with and drives the company's business objectives. As a leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the AI/ML team, guiding them to deliver on our AI vision and strategy.
  • Take ownership of building an AI/ML cloud or private infrastructure from scratch, laying a robust and scalable foundation for the company's AI initiatives. This involves identifying suitable technologies, designing the architecture, and managing the implementation process.
  • Spearhead the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models, primarily focusing on predictive analytics, NLP, generative AI, and computer vision. You will be responsible for ensuring that these models are efficient, accurate, and contribute effectively to solving complex business challenges.
  • Develop a framework for delivering AI services internally, creating a citizen development model. This involves creating user-friendly tools, providing comprehensive training to employees across various business units, and enabling seamless integration of AI services into business operations.
  • Advocate for and implement industry best practices in AI/ML, to ensure the reliability, accuracy, scalability, and security of our models and systems. This includes staying abreast of advancements in the field, updating our practices as necessary, and promoting a culture of continual learning within the team.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of machine learning engineers. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning, ensuring that the team is equipped with the skills and tools necessary to deliver on our AI/ML goals.
  • Establish a Center of Excellence (CoE) for AI/ML to promote collaboration, knowledge sharing, and best practices within the organization. Create a governance model to ensure adherence to data quality, privacy, and ethical AI use standards. This involves developing policies, procedures, and guidelines, as well as implementing processes for monitoring and maintaining the compliance of AI/ML initiatives.
