About Rechargeable Battery Materials

We are all on the move. Umicore’s Rechargeable Battery Materials (RBM) give people autonomy and connectivity. We are a pioneer in battery materials that give added range and performance to electric vehicles. Our materials also ensure longer battery life for portable electronics. To enable our customers to produce even better performing batteries we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. What you will be doing

Project Involvement as project core team member:Work in close collaboration with the business project coordinator, the global domain managers, business key users and the RBM Global data steward in the definition of the best conceptual data modelBuild best-in-class ETL packages and dimensional models for self-service BI solutionsDefine test scenario and perform unit and integration testingIn some cases, act also as project coordinatorCoordinate efforts with external consultantsAct as main contact for IS (BI center of excellence team) during all system implementations

Business Support and going concern role:Maintain and administer global and local aspects of the ETL solutionsProvide first level support. Ensure that all health checks have been created and are closely supervisedSupport the business needs in a timely and efficient manner, tenacity and commitment to quality and excellenceManage incoming demands on improvements of existing applications: analyze request, organize functional analysis, estimate and plan developmentsParticipate in the Data Engineer circle and share best practicesWork with other stakeholders to optimize ETL schedulingChange request initiation and follow-up – clear communication between IS and business on business needs & requirements. Provide feedback to business regarding approval (or rejection) of changesSafeguard process and application know-how

Who we are looking for

An analytical colleague with:

Master’s degree in applied computer sciences, in information technology sciences, mathematics or economy

A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in the ETL and Datawarehouse domains

Good understanding of self-service BI governance

You can rely on technical knowledge in the following:Data visualization: Qlik Sense and/or Power BIData warehouse: Azure SQL Server, Azure Data LakeETL: TimeXtender (optional: Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks)

Working experience in a service driven, customer oriented environment.

Knowledge of the ETL/DWH automation/Data preparation tool of choice (TimeXtender for the POCs)

Business Process minded

Good technical knowledge about DB connectivity to access different data sources

Interest in and exposure to industrial activities, processes and technology
