  • About the role

    Your Impact as ‘R&D Lab Technician – Hydrogen’:

  • Support next generation porous transport layer research and development within the hydrogen R&D group of Bekaert.
  • Plan and execute required characterisation of PTL samples such as SEM, TEM, EDX, mechanical and electrical characterisation.
  • Report on test results with a focus on providing insights to support further development cycles.
  • You will design and construct quick and easy test set-ups to evaluate new ideas and principles towards performance, quality and possibility to implement in industrial environments.
  • You will collaborate with internal and external partners to further support Bekaert’s PTL product development.
  • You will define and execute detailed experiments with regards to porous transport layers from titanium, nickel and/or stainless steel and report in detail to peers and colleagues in the R&D team.
  • About You

    Essential skills & competencies

  • You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in material sciences/chemistry or related field or equivalent by experience.
  • Previous experience in industrial settings with a focus on fiber production, webbing, sintering would be considered an advantage.
  • You have an innovative and creative mindset (thinking outside of the box).
  • You are hands on, a true team player & result/action oriented.
  • You are a strong communicator & proactive problem solver.
  • You’re excellent in dealing with ambiguity (dare to challenge the ‘what is’).
  • You are structured in your approach and have high attention to detail in way-of-working.
  • You’re fluent English, Dutch would be considered an advantage.
