Procurement Manager

A job at Proximus? You’ll find that everything revolves around the idea ‘Think Possible’. This means: we always assume that something is possible, even if it seems impossible. Well, especially so, actually. Call it a way of thinking that involves being open to a world of digital solutions that make our lives easier. And our way of working smarter.

As a Senior Buyer within our Procurement team, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our procurement activities on both tactical and strategic levels. You will be responsible for identifying cost-saving opportunities, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of goods and services. You will also lead or contribute to transformation projects driving process improvements, digitalization, sustainability initiatives, reporting, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and develop procurement strategies aligned with the company's objectives (category plans).
  • As a project manager, you manage large, complex procurement files in close cooperation with the (technical) project managers. You manage these projects, often with high budgetary impact, with the aim of creating value and contributing to the objectives of Proximus and covering risks through contract negotiation and follow-up.
  • Source, evaluate, and select suppliers, conducting supplier assessments to ensure they meet quality, cost, and performance standards.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, including pricing, terms, and conditions, to optimize cost savings and mitigate risks.
  • Monitor supplier performance and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify cost reduction opportunities and drive cost-effective procurement practices.
  • Analyse market trends and developments to proactively identify opportunities for innovation and cost optimization.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Your Profile

  • You have a university degree and relevant experience of at least 5 -10 years in commercial/procurement functions in a technology environment.
  • You are trilingual (French, Dutch, English).
  • You have experience in leading and motivating project teams. You are known as a good team player.
  • You can develop and implement strategies with a focus on results.
  • You have strong analytical skills and experience in leading and managing complex procurement projects.
  • You are a strong result-oriented negotiator, and you are highly communicative.
  • You are familiar with contract negotiations and its legal aspects.
  • Familiarity with procurement software and tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • What do we offer you?

  • We are 100% Belgian. So we make decisions in three languages. And all at the same time if you like!
  • We are open to everyone: M, W, X, and in fact all the other letters of the alphabet.
  • We encourage personal growth. At the Proximus Academy, you won't even want to miss a session.
  • We are, of course, committed to sustainability. What else did you think?
  • We firmly believe that working together is important, but that having fun together is even more so. That is why we regularly organise fun activities. (Please let us know if you have a talent for playing Santa Claus!)
  • We believe in responsibility. Also in yours. For example, you can take it to launch your own initiatives.
  • We put our customers first. And because we are all customers somewhere, you already know what that means. That’s good.
  • And the ever-important work-life balance? We keep it in the right place.
  • Naturally we have a competitive salary package for you. Click (or apply) to discover what else we offer.
