VIE - R&D Solution Engineer - H/F

You will be part of a global team that supports the commercial and operation teams in a large variety of market segments – with focus on Energy and hydrogen applications. We are at the forefront, creating new solutions, and providing simulation & testing expertise to propose unique combinations of materials & design for the most demanding applications.

The main role

As our R&D solution Engineer, you will play a key role in the team. You have autonomy and are encouraged to identify and develop, under the guidance of more experienced researchers, new testing equipment that can support overall technical understanding and business growth. You will also have the following missions:

  • Support the design and development of dedicated test rigs and protocols to evaluate product performance with a focus on hydrogen applications.
  • Prepare samples and perform testing and failure analysis in close collaboration with R&D, application, and process engineers.
  • Lead and develop small R&D projects.
  • Study & explore existing literature on dedicated sealing materials and products for hydrogen.
  • Support application, process engineers, and operations with analytical measurements, new material supplier validation (DRM), and specific customer needs.
  • Give input and advice for further actions based on achieved technical results.

    This role is made for you if you have the following:

  • Master’s degree in materials science, mechanical engineering or any related field.
  • Hands-on with an appetite for innovation and science.
  • Team oriented and well organized.
  • Planning and testing skills.
  • Knowledge of simulation tools and programming languages is a plus.
  • Knowledge and operation of advanced characterization equipment (SEM, DSC…) is a plus.
  • Strong commitment to EH&S and 5S standards.
  • Able to use Microsoft suite.
  • Fluent communication skills in English.

    You will join the international team of more than 10 different nationalities and will be located at our Belgium site. Our Lab technical team is composed of 6 people, but you will interact with other teams on site as well (almost 20 people).
