**One day as an Expleo Test Engineer**

You will work collaboratively with our customers to scope, plan, implement and refine automation solutions specific to requirements.

* Within a test team, you will be responsible for testing activities over multiple projects. Beside that you will also advise the product teams with an eye for improvement of quality.
* You will align testing activities with customer objectives and their strategy. While doing this, you are the liaison between management and project team(s) at a strategic level.

Role Overview

We are looking for a **UFT Test Automation Engineer** with strong experience in software testing, test automation, and defect handling. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with **OpenText UFT and HP ALM**, along with a good understanding of VBScript and hybrid automation frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

- -------------------

### Software Testing

* Apply strong functional knowledge and understanding of **software testing principles and methodologies**.

* Analyse test requirements and ensure appropriate test coverage.

* Identify defects at an early stage and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes.

* Maintain clear reporting and follow up on identified issues and defects.

### Test Automation -- OpenText UFT

* Create, maintain, and enhance **automated test scripts using OpenText UFT**.

* Optimise existing **object repositories and test scripts** for better performance, reliability, and reusability.

* Maintain existing automation assets and develop new automated test cases when required.

* Ensure test scripts remain reliable and maintainable over the long term.

* Work with **VBScript** and **Hybrid Automation Frameworks**, including data-driven and keyword-driven approaches.

### HP ALM

* Use **HP ALM** for test management and execution activities.

* Create and update **test suites** and manage test assets.

* Work with **test cycles** and support test planning activities.

* Plan and manage the execution of test scripts.

* Maintain accurate test execution results and associated documentation.

### Defect Handling \& Maintenance

* Analyse test failures and distinguish between **script maintenance issues and genuine application defects**.

* Investigate failures and provide clear information to development and project teams.

* Track defects through to resolution and ensure appropriate follow-up.

* Identify opportunities to improve the stability, reliability, and reusability of automation assets.

Required Profile

- ---------------

* Solid functional knowledge and understanding of **software testing**.

* **ISTQB Foundation certification** is required.

* Hands-on experience with:

* **OpenText UFT**

* **HP ALM**

* **VBScript**

* **Hybrid Automation Frameworks**

* Proven experience in creating and maintaining automated test scripts using **OpenText UFT**.

* Experience optimising existing **object repositories and test scripts**.

* Good understanding of HP ALM, including:

* Test cycles

* Test suite creation and maintenance

* Test execution planning

* Test result management

* Strong analytical and logical thinking skills.

* Ability to troubleshoot automation failures and identify whether an issue is related to **script maintenance or an application defect**.

* Good communication and reporting skills.

* Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with development, testing, and project teams.
