Senior Functional Analyst

**Contract Duration:** 5 Months (Full-Time)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced **Senior Functional Analyst** to support a strategic digital transformation programme within a public sector environment. This role requires an expert in functional and business analysis who can bridge business and technical teams, translate complex business needs into functional solutions, and contribute throughout the full project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working on large-scale IT projects, strong stakeholder management skills, and a solid understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
- -------------------

* Gather, analyse, and document business and functional requirements.
* Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications.
* Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, architects, testers, and project managers throughout the project lifecycle.
* Facilitate workshops and requirement validation sessions.
* Produce high-quality functional documentation and process models.
* Support solution design while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to Scrum-based project delivery.
* Execute and support functional, acceptance, and end-to-end testing.
* Ensure traceability between business requirements and delivered solutions.
* Contribute to data and solution architecture discussions where required.

Required Experience
- ------------------

* Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Engineering, or a related field.
* IREB certification or equivalent in Business/Functional Analysis.
* More than 25 years of experience in functional and business analysis for complex IT projects.
* Recent experience within the public sector is required.
* Experience working within social security or similar public service organisations is considered a strong advantage.
* Strong experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
* Good understanding of PRINCE2 project methodology.
* Knowledge of data modelling and solution architecture concepts.
* Experience performing functional, acceptance, and end-to-end testing.

Language Requirements

* Fluent French
* Fluent Dutch
* Fluent English
* German is considered an advantage.

Additional Information

As part of the application process, shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a functional analysis case study focused on project planning and resource management. The completed exercise must be submitted together with the CV for consideration.

Work Arrangement

* Full-time contract
* Hybrid working model based in Brussels
* Initial 5-month engagement with the possibility of extension depending on project requirements.
