Flexcity is continuously expanding the services it offers its clients. The services now include ancillary services (FCR, aFRR, mFRR), energy markets, congestion management, load-shifting, etc.

Job Description

As a Functional Analyst, you will play a pivotal role between business needs and technical solutions.

You will be responsible for analysing business processes of our existing and new services, gathering requirements, and collaborating with our Internal IT and Data to design and implement effective solutions. You will interact with internal and external stakeholders to design and deliver the best solution. You will become the internal expert in the technical and business implementation of our services and emerging technologies. The project you will work on ranges from enabling the improved cross-market optimisation of Flexcity’s existing asset Portfolio to developing new services to integrating high-complexity assets in our portfolio. 

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of business processes, excellent communication skills, and a passion for driving efficiency and effectiveness through technology. Depending on your affinity, you can grow more in product development's IT or commercial part. 

Your responsibilities

  • You will be part of the cross-border Product Department
  • Work with the country managers, portfolio manager and product team to design and scope new functionality and energy services that the IT-Data team will develop. This includes the creation of functional descriptions, product documentation and presentations.
  • You manage incoming development requests and follow up on the development of our IT team. This can include participation in the different agile ceremonies such as daily stand-up meetings, review meetings and planning.
  • Conduct thorough business process analysis to understand current workflows and identify areas for improvement.
  • You facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring a clear understanding of requirements and expectations.
  • You become an expert in the valorisation possibilities, technical characteristics and business cases involving our services. 
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies within the energy sector to ensure our products remain competitive.

    Your skills and profile

  • You combine a strong analytical mindset with a commercial mindset
  • You have at least 3 years of experience and knowledge in energy
  • You have a great affinity for both the energy sector and technology.
  • Fluent in English, Dutch  or  French
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • You address challenges proactively and have a can-do mentality 
  • You are flexible, not afraid to think outside the box, and love sharing your knowledge.
  • You are deliverable-focused with a pragmatic and professional attitude.

  • You have experience in product management or in business development 
  • Data analysis experience (Python, sql etc..)
