We are excited to offer the opportunity for a dedicated Liaison System Engineer to become a key member of our innovative IT department. In this crucial role, you will bridge the gap between internal teams and external IT service providers, ensuring seamless operations and exemplary project execution. This position requires a blend of technical prowess in system engineering and outstanding skills in relationship management and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary interface between the internal IT department and external technology partners, including vendors and outsourced service providers.
  • Manage and oversee the implementation and operation of network, server, and storage solutions in line with organizational standards and strategic objectives.
  • Lead and coordinate IT projects from initial design through to successful deployment, fostering collaboration and clear communication among all involved parties.
  • Handle third-line support escalation, efficiently prioritizing and directing issues to the correct internal or external resources.
  • Review and enhance service management processes to boost efficiency and compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Create and sustain detailed documentation for system configurations, operational procedures, and service histories.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and system enhancements to recommend improvements to the existing IT infrastructure.
  • Conduct periodic strategic review sessions with IT service partners to discuss performance, address concerns, and negotiate service terms.
  • Act as an escalation point for resolving complex IT issues or conflicts between internal and external teams.
  • Ensure all IT initiatives and ongoing maintenance are compliant with organizational policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of Dutch or French and knowledge of English
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in system engineering, including expertise in managing networks, servers, and storage systems.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing IT projects and overseeing service management operations.
  • Solid understanding of ITIL frameworks and proficiency in project management methodologies such as PMP or PRINCE2.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively coordinating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with robust problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experienced in vendor management, including negotiating and managing contracts and SLAs.

  • Professional certifications like ITIL, PMP, or others related to system engineering or project management.
  • Prior experience in a liaison or coordination role within an IT setting.
  • Awareness of the latest IT trends and potential applications within organizational contexts.
