For our Food & Nutrition laboratory in Merelbeke , we are looking for a Laboratory Technician with a passion for food .
ABOUT THE ROLE
As our Laboratory Technician, you will assist the Laboratory Manager in the development of formulations for the promotion of Azelis products and inclusion in customer formulation projects.
This includes, amongst others:
Support and partially drive development and testing of new formulations, applications and chemistries;
Support and develop new product concepts to enter new customer/market segments;
Support sampling process (for customers, seminars and exhibitions);
Execute the functional (and sensory testing) potential of the market segment’s product range;
Drive innovation through the market segment’s lateral value chain;
Create digital content for customer portal;
Project management, reporting, and documentation using CRM (Technical Service Requests and Formulations)
Support and drive customer, supplier and in-house seminars;
Work in close collaboration with the sales team to support project development and troubleshooting;
Ensure tracking and reporting on innovation & pipeline development;
Drive and support responsibility for the lab (safety, maintenance, and quality standards);
Translate the Group’s Sustainability Strategy into concrete job-related action items and contribute actively and timely to the implementation of the sustainability KPIs.
WHO YOU ARE
You have technical product knowledge and skills acquired by education and lab experience (e.g. in food technology, nutrition science, biochemistry). A passion for food and technical affinity with chemistry is key;
You have a great affinity with customers and market dynamics;
You have excellent communication skills, both spoken and written, in Dutch and English. Good knowledge of French is an asset;
You have a strong analytical approach, attention to detail and you work towards high quality standards;
You are self-motived, take ownership and have a dynamic mindset;
You have strong IT skills and interest to use digital tools;
You love to work in a dynamic and commercially driven team.
