As an IT Network Service Manager located in Belgium, you will be leading the global network operations across all Bekaert locations and our Cloud platforms.
Together with the internal team and IT service provider, you will ensure reliability, availability, and performance of our networks, fit for purpose.
This key role requires a high experience in all major network technologies such as switching / routing, WAN, WLAN, firewalls, load balancers, cloud-based network services and SDN.
About the role
Your Impact as IT Network Service Manager:
You will manage a team of Network Engineers (2 team members) who support connectivity services (LAN, WAN, WLAN, Cloud, Security).
You will oversee the operational and tactical governance of our IT network service provider.
You will ensure alignment with Bekaert ITIL processes, including robust incident management, proactive problem management, and ongoing improvement of our network architecture.
You will take ownership of lifecycle, capacity, and configuration management for connectivity services.
You will identify and implement network security measures based on vulnerability assessments and hardening recommendations.
You will coordinate and lead operational projects related to connectivity services, including lifecycle management, capacity planning, and support for business-driven roll-out projects such as MES and IoT, as well as global roll-out projects like SD-WAN.
You will collaborate closely with the solution architecture team, providing input from operations and serving as a technical expert in networking.
You will act as the 'CEO' of the network service, taking accountability for budgets, cost management, continuous improvements, and SLAs.
As part of our SLA, you will ensure optimal network performance by enhancing network monitoring tools and refining processes with our IT service provider.
About You
Essential skills & competencies:
You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
You have at least 5 years of experience in IT service management, with a focus on connectivity services.
Certification in Cisco (CCNA or CCNP) or equivalent experience is a must.
You have strong technical knowledge of connectivity solutions (SD-WAN, Fortinet, Cisco, VPN) and routing protocols (BGP, etc.).
You possess excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Your passion lies in designing, implementing, and managing IT network projects across multiple regions and platforms.
You have strong written and spoken communication skills in English; proficiency in any other language is a plus.
