Freight Analyst

Freight analyst - VF Sint-Niklaas

As part of the EMEA Supply Chain team, you will execute controlling of outbound freight costs for the Region, as well as Logistics expenses between European Distribution Centers, UK Distribution center and Satellite DCs.

How you will make a difference

  • You will monitor and analyse freight & financial performance, identify root causes in case of deviations vs targets/SLAs, recommending corrective actions or operational opportunities.
  • In addition, you will partner with Supply chain Finance, DC, Customs, Indirect Procurement and Brand Supply chain teams to ensure end-to-end visibility of the outbound freight costs by channel, supporting your business partners in effective decision making.
  • Support indirect procurement with required data (+ services) on initiatives and RFP with forwarders.
  • Support governance process within Supply Chain to drive informed business decisions.
  • Strengthen processes around Freight audit.
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis and management presentations for reviews with Senior Management team.
  • Coordinate with all VF EMEA business partners on continuous process improvements and the implementations of Logistics related projects.
  • Leverage the existing and upcoming accounting systems/ERP/BI tools/Logistics platform to drive better efficiency and continuous workflow improvements.
  • Drive development of analytical tools to analyse and reconcile both Forecast and Actual variances vs cost targets.
  • Analyse end to end outbound costs by channel, cost variances versus forecast and budget, review implications to increase financial planning accuracy and identify opportunities for efficiencies.
  • Analyse end to end Logistics costs related to DC-to-DC flows, stores replenishment and returns, customer returns.
  • Lead/Participate in assigned projects through effective collaboration with Supply chain functions, Finance, Procurement, and other stakeholders.
  • You will partner with Supply chain Finance, DC, Customs, Indirect Procurement and Brand Supply chain teams to ensure end-to-end visibility of the outbound freight costs by channel, supporting your business partners in effective decision making.
  • Liase with Supply Chain functions and brand teams to implement Logistics related procedure, actions and follow ups to reduce impact on brand profitability.
  • Own end-to-end Freight Management reporting of actual costs for his/her area of responsibility, explaining variances versus targets and supporting decision making process.

    Skills for success

  • +5 years of experience at a multination company, with strong experience in Logistics, Financial planning and Analysis
  • University graduate, degree holder in Finance / Economics / Business Administration / Industrial engineering SKILLS
  • Formidable team player who operates and collaborates effectively across functions and levels.
  • Strong analytical mindset and solid software and PC skills (Advanced in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, others)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (in English), Dutch is a plus
  • Strong process and continuous improvement mindset; passionate to drive changes.
  • Ability to work closely with the Supply Chain functions/Procurement/SC Finance, while driving a results-oriented culture and an atmosphere of accountability.
  • Excellent organizational skills & goal oriented.
  • Proficient knowledge of international auditing principles and controlling methods.
  • Self-initiative, independent and able to handle multiple demands & competing priorities.
  • Ability to effectively present findings to management in a clear and concise manner.
