Engineer II, Decommissioning and Waste Management
The EMEA Project Engineering group based in Nivelles, Belgium, is seeking an Engineer II for the support of exciting business opportunities. This engineer will support the Westinghouse Decommissioning and Waste Management engineering groups based in Europe, providing design services to the operating and decommissioning fleets.
The Decommissioning and Waste Management groups you will collaborate with, are engineering groups providing various technical services and engineering for safe and reliable solutions for the nuclear backend. Typical work includes engineering and execution of dismantling operations for shutdown nuclear reactors, as well as design and development of waste treatment solutions. In your role, you will coordinate the development of specific tools for segmentation and handling of the reactor components under water or in shielded cells, as well as lead several waste equipment design development tasks and waste management problematics. This position offers many opportunities for creative problem solving as part of constant methods and tool improvements.
As a project engineer, you will be the technical link between the customer, the project manager, our design teams and Westinghouse personnel at the site. This role provides a solid development and growth opportunity for those seeking to develop as a technical leader or business leader, as support will go beyond one specific discipline and support the development of a large network within Westinghouse. You will learn the different services provided in the decommissioning and waste management areas, and be able to participate to both the design phases but also to the coordination of these services worldwide.
