Introduction:
A new and challenging opportunity has arisen for an Application Engineer – Automotive at Donaldson due to a growth in our activities.
This mechanical / automotive engineer will be in charge of the development of Air Intake Systems for the Automotive sector.
The position will be based in our EMEA headquarters in Leuven and can partially be done from home.
We happily welcome candidates with a first engineering experience (2+ years) with an interest in design, part validation and project management, but equally accept candidates with 5+ years of experience.
We will also provide a tailor-made training to guide you in your job. This role will report to Ton Moers, Engineering Manager in our Mobile Solutions division.
Responsibilities:
To assure the complete management of the assigned Customers from a technical point of view
Manages and coordinates the application of air intake products for assigned OE customers
Manages products testing, sets-up benchmarking programs and manages research efforts
Provides engineering support to large OE projects
Provides technical support to sales, customers, and users in the field
Ensures broad range of engineering tasks according to ISO/TS
Elaborate autonomously new proposals to the customers for new project applications
Qualifications:
Bachelor or Master degree in Engineering or equivalent through experience
Team player
Fluent verbal and written English.
Knowledge oFrench, Dutch or German is an asset
Good understanding of combustion engines, fluid dynamics and electro-mechanics in general.
Knowledge of materials: plastics & related processing (injection, roto molding etc.), metals & related processing, seals & adhesives
Strong in conceptual thinking & problem solving. Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated capabilities in creativity, design, project leadership, organizing product testing
APQP and DFSS is an asset
Willingness/Opportunity to travel (limited to max 20 % of time)
