Remote Senior DevOps Engineer - The Platform Team

The SoftwareOne Marketplace Platform Team is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer who enjoys working with the latest technologies and practices and are inspired to learn new things in new ways. You will be helping us drive our infrastructure automation projects as part of an engineering team that prides itself on understanding the business that we support and evolve. Our approach to platform engineering aims to build SoftwareOne’s online marketplace, client interfaces, internal integrations and external vendor relations to a world class standard. The role Role is 100% REMOTE from the following countries: UK, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Bulgaria, Romania What you will be doing: Beyond committing code, you will be expected to help define, document, and drive new initiatives and best practices. You will act as a senior resource for your junior colleagues in the form of patiently answering their questions, mentoring, pairing, and sharing knowledge through documentation and presentations. You will be called on to represent the team’s interests within the greater engineering organisation. What we need to see from you Your skills and experience: Cloud automation is of outmost importance. Azure is preferred, though we will not overlook a very strong candidate with significant AWS experience CI/CD pipeline development IaC, specifically Terraform or a wrapper Kubernetes, or a Cloud-managed container orchestrator, e.g. AKS, EKS Experience operating an observability stack preferred Bonus points for being security-minded About You: You have experience operating a mature, high volume stack in the cloud You have opinions on what a fully-realised platform should look like, and you have defined and implemented large portions of that You are a proponent of adhering to best practices, but are pragmatic enough to know when flexibility is called for You are a skilled communicator, able to interface with and tailor your message to counterparts in engineering, as well as colleagues in other functions, of all technical levels #LI-AM1 Job Function Marketplace PlatformRole is 100% REMOTE from the following countries: UK, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Bulgaria, Romania What you will be doing: Beyond committing code, you will be expected to help define, document, and drive new initiatives and best practices.
