R&D Business Operations Director
The Business Operations Director is an independent contributor who partners with the aligned functional leader(s) to mobilize R&D’s people, time, and resources for maximum patient impact. The Business Operations Director acts as a dynamic, intelligent glue - identifying, defining, organizing, and accelerating the operational activities across R&D that are critical to delivering the R&D strategy.
This role supports implementation of the function’s strategy to deliver medicines and vaccines to patients. You’ll drive the function’s performance through the application of efficient and effective operational processes and support acceleration activities and key projects. You will be a highly motivated individual, who demonstrates an agile learning ability, and are adept at bringing clarity and structure to ambiguous situations.
As the Business Operations Director you will be responsible for providing close support and thought partnership to the function’s senior leader (SVP/VP level). We are currently advertising for two Business Operations Director roles, one supporting the Oncology Clinical Development function and the other supporting the Global Regulatory Affairs organization. This role is fungible and alignment to a specific function(s) could change according to Business Operations’ resourcing model requirements, organization changes, etc.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to lead key activities to support the effective running of parts of the business, working in close collaboration with other business enablers. These responsibilities include some of the following activities:
Actively plan, facilitate, and participate at Leadership Team meetings to ensure delivery of strategic and operational line needs.
Translate team thinking into a sound and effective strategy.
Partner with Leadership Team to develop and facilitate the execution of the team’s objectives.
Partner with Finance, Human Resources (HR) and Resource Management to generate resource management analyses to enable LTs to appropriately resource our portfolio.
Own and manage complex projects and activities from first plans to final delivery.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree.
5+ years of pharmaceutical experience.
An experienced business operations professional with 5+ years supporting a senior leadership team.
3+ years project leadership and management skills.
3+ years working with change management approaches on a range of projects / programs at multiple organizational levels including VP level and above.
3+ years experience creating/using data analytics to drive performance.
Able to travel internationally (on an occasional basis, as required).
