Process Safety Management Engineer

Responsibilities

:

  • Develop, implement, & coordinate the Process Safety Management system. Coordinate, support & monitor the operations in the introduction and/or implementation of regulations & site policies.
  • Maintain specialist expertise that supports the operation units and projects in the understanding, assessment and active management of major accident hazards and risks.
  • Lead or participate in Major Accident Risk assessments, HAZIDs, HAZOPs, Bow-Tie and Project HSE Reviews. Ability to model dangerous phenomena and provide expertise in the typology of effects. Support to define, implement & monitor the RBI Technical Inspection System.
  • Ensure the implementation and compliance with the requirements of our “Ineos 10 PSM principles”
  • Develop and support projects improving our process safety. Provide guidance to projects and operations on Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements, the application on safe design strategies, fire, explosion and toxic risk detection and protection. Develop appropriate hazard management systems for projects, to prevent, control and mitigate risks.
  • Review process safety engineering work and deliverables from engineering contractors and suppliers, with emphasis on safety critical areas.
  • Define our operating envelopes and support operation/maintenance to deal with process safety aspects in their operating procedures
  • Conduct on site process safety audits
  • If needed, give process safety training for various actors (Ineos and contractors)
  • Assist the site in dealing with regulatory bodies and third parties on issues of process safety, integrity management and Safety Case development
  • B a technical support in the development of our emergency plan
  • Provide technical support and guidance on operational troubleshooting and process safety incident/accident investigation.
  • Work in collaboration with specialists and engineers of all disciplines
  • Key skills, knowledge and Competencies  :

    Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting are essential.

    The ideal candidate will be both a self-starter and team player with a minimum of 3 years experience in the process safety engineering field

  • MofSc in Chemical Engineering
  • Broad knowledge of design, selection and application of petrochemical equipment and process hazard analysis
  • Specialist knowledge of process safety engineering as applied to chemical industry
  • Ability to lead project, particularly in process safety field
  • In-depth understanding of hazard and risk analysis techniques
  • Excellent organizational, planning, written and oral communication skills
  • Languages

  • Written and oral fluency in French and English
  • Written and oral fluency in Dutch and German is a plus
