Next Generation Firewall Engineer

Context:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Next Generation Firewall Engineer to join our dynamic team at AXA Group Operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) infrastructure, with a specific focus on Palo Alto Networks as the NGFW vendor. This role will play a critical part in ensuring our network security posture meets the highest standards and remains resilient against evolving cyber threats.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain the organization's Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) infrastructure, with a focus on Palo Alto Networks as the NGFW solution provider.
  • Deliver high-level design (HLD) and low-level design (LLD) documentation for NGFW solutions.
  • Create comprehensive work instructions for the Level 2 team, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and support processes.
  • Utilize development skills for data analysis, automation, monitoring, and control within the network security domain.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective firewall policies and configurations.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and audits of the NGFW environment to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Analyze and resolve security incidents, utilizing deep technical expertise in NGFW technologies.
  • Stay abreast of emerging cyber threats and security technologies to proactively enhance the NGFW infrastructure.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams for NGFW-related issues and initiatives.
  • Your Profile

    Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications (, PCNSA, PCNSE, CCNP Security, NSE 4) are highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) technologies and their application in enterprise environments, with specific expertise in Palo Alto Networks' solutions.
  • Experience in designing and implementing firewall policies, rules, and access control lists for Palo Alto NGFW.
  • Familiarity with network security principles, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and proficiency with tools like GitHub and Terraform.
  • Development skills for data analysis, automation, monitoring, and control within the network security domain.
  • Previous experience in both banking and insurance sectors is preferable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the network security and NGFW domain.
  • Experience with NSX-T and micro-segmentation is desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented approach to security management.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
