In Brussels, we have our Structural and Mechatronics Engineering offices, where all our new programs begin and our workshops are equipped with modern

machines that produce complex metallic assemblies for aircraft and space launchers as well as advanced Thrust Vectoring Systems for space launchers.

SABCA Brussels is also the home to our "Unmanned Autonomous Systems" aka: the drones solutions unit!

Mission:

You will evaluate and improve current and future surface treatment processes by designing and conducting research programs, with knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.

Tasks:

  • Determine the best process to give aircraft subassemblies the optimum surface treatment based on client specifications and industry best practices
  • As a subject matter expert, participate to problem-solving, continuous improvement and training activities with the surface treatment operations teams
  • Follow up on the shop floor and initiate process improvement based on your observations
  • Document process details to sustain quality
  • Research root causes and advise operations on tests to confirm them via structured root cause analysis methods (5-Why, 9S, 8D,…)
  • Inform about scientific and technical developments, advise on potential impact for the operations
  • Determine and define project scope and objectives based on the surface treatment strategy
  • Project Management: Predict resources needed to reach objectives, prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements, track project costs in order to meet budget, develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan, provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate and assume responsibilities at his/her level with regard to the EN quality standard and the ISO environmental standard
  • Profile:

  • Technical Skills MSc in Materials Engineering/chemistry or equivalent , strong industrial view Background in Aerospace D Software Project management 10-15 years of relevant experience with industrial surface treatment, incl.
  • Soft Skills Analytical and problem-solving skills Team Player Attention to detail Data driven
