IT Tactical Planning Analyst

Within IT Flat Europe organization, the Digital & IT Supply chain department is responsible for the IT Strategy of the Supply Chain function, including efficiency (process and system exploitation and optimization). 

Scale-Up is a large IT-project within the Supply Chain domain which has a lot of integration tasks with all mills across Europe. Because of the sheer size of the project, the roll-out is managed per mill.

Introduction

As part of D&IT Supply Chain, we are seeking a talented Software Tactical Planning (TP) Analyst. As an IT TP Analyst on our team, you can expect a challenging and dynamic work environment with lots of autonomy to take ownership of your work. We work with a complex IT landscape that provides ample opportunities for innovation and problem-solving. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and evolving an application for S&OP and Tactical planning. This includes, the analysis of planning business requirements, description of high-quality software solutions and expert models, next to the technical design and development.

Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for offering the key supply chain planners and management a robust, agile application for S&OP and Tactical planning using OMP+ software and own developed expert models. 
  • As an analyst you will discuss abstract modelling with management level, experts and implement them yourself.
  • You will be working on the further evolution of the scale-up application portfolio as well as propagating the solution within the ArcelorMittal group. 
  • Knowledge of the sales and operations planning in the steel industry is a plus.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and the production steps within the steelmaking process are added values.

You are able to capture new needs / functionality through documentation, legacy applications and/or interaction with the client/business. You are able to capture all this and translate this into user stories.

  • You support with testing the software applications and ensure that all software is of high quality and meets project requirements. The role could enclose collaborating, guiding, and steering an offshore testing team.
  • You are the contact for business and able to supply new IT solutions supporting and/or optimizing the business processes.
  • You can understand technical topics and discuss these with the development team to allow them to implement performant and future-proof applications.
  • You can inspire developers and make the team work optimally.
  • Over time you will be able to lead projects and decide on the correct priorities.
  • You know the principles of the Agile / Scrum methodology.

Profile          

  • You have a Master’s degree in IT, Engineering or Economics.
  • You can easily connect to planning experts, abstract their needs, check in your toolbox the scenarios to address them. Abstract thinking, modelling is your second nature.
  • You are an engineering and mathematics addict and like to use it for solving industrial challenges.
  • You have a technical and modelling background that allows you to analyze and develop evolutions and/or maintain the OMP+ planning tool.
  • Although you are by nature a team player, you like to cover the development chain in autonomous way (from A-Z) striving for perfection.
  • You have experience developing in different technologies (object oriented), you can ramp-up in new ones and you have experience coding models after analyzing the business processes (logistic, planning, production planning) in different programming languages C#, C++, Phyton, …
  • You are an analyst with a pragmatic approach.
  • You are up to date concerning the new trends in software development and are eager to continuously widen your competences.
  • You have a general knowledge of a wide range of technologies and methodologies. Within our program this is currently concentrated around: C#, Angular, SQLServer, Entity Framework, XML, TFS/GIT, OO, Visual Studio, …
  • The S&OP planning tool is built in a third-party software OMP+ (OPAL) with a heavy customization crafted during around 6 years. OPAL language is desirable but not mandatory, we can train you. The are other tactical planning tools built in .NET + Angular.
  • You are receptive for new knowledge and ideas, even outside your knowledge-domain.
  • You are able to think creatively and out-of-the box while providing solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. You are stress resilient. Flexible teamplayer.
  • Your knowledge of Dutch and English is at a professional level (proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking).
