To strengthen our  IT Clinical Analytics & Visualization  team, based at the HQ, in Brussels, Belgium, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of:  IT Lead Clinical Study Digitalization.

About the role:

Within the global UCB IT organization, the mission of the “IT Clinical Analytics & Visualization team” is to accelerate and transform the way that UCB designs and plans clinical trials through technology.

With a focus on creating Value for Patients, our team uses cutting edge solutions (GenAI, Machine Learning and predictive analytics) to evolve those activities that support: clinical protocol design, sites and country selection, patient recruitment and statistical analysis. Through a collaborative partnership we enable UCB clinical teams throughout the development of differentiated solutions, improving patient experience, facilitating patient access, and contributing to the delivery of superior health outcomes.

In your role as “IT Lead Clinical Study Digitalization”, in partnership with peers and experts in the company (clinical and medical, physicians) , you will define and manage projects to evolve clinical protocol design. We are currently exploring the integration of GenAI capabilities for automatic protocol drafting. It will be in your power to integrate GenAI in UCB way of working transforming the protocol design journey. 

A key component of the role is the understanding of the activities and ways of working of the final users of your solutions, ensuring the tools that you will deliver will add value to UCB. You will provide subject matter input on the technology, architectural landscape, roadmap of each one of your projects ensuring timely deliverables. In addition to your contributions through understanding of the technology and ways of working, you will also build strong collaborative relationships through clinical experts engagement and management. 

What you’ll do:

  • Contribute to the initiative of IT and to the Digital Transformation: We are transforming the way of working of the Clinical space using technology. You will actively contribute to these activities defining projects and managing them.
  • Run proof of concepts with new technologies: GenAI, Machine Learning, Deep Neural Network, Natural Language Processing.
  • Lead the development of custom solution in a regulated environment (GxP)
  • Define new projects and manage them (timeline estimation, resources, budget allocation,… )
  • Being able to design impactful presentations to showcase the value of the projects for UCB and patients.
  • Ensure the integration of partner technologies within the UCB tech landscape
  • Support the technology assessment during scouting or new tech vendor selection.
  • Ensure technology complies as a safe, secure and compliant environment and associated regulations.
  • Interested? For this position you’ll need the following   education, experience   and skills:

  • Relevant degree (master’s or PhD) preferred.
  • Affinity for IT or clinical domains.
  • Demonstrated project management experience in an IT environment.
  • Ability to adapt to change and continuous learning.
  • Autonomy in stakeholder communication.
  • Identifying unmet needs and designing projects.
  • Impactful communication for face-to-face and virtual interactions.
  • Curiosity, collaboration, resilience, and a drive to overcome challenges.
