Group Process Analytics Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Process Analytics Engineer to join our Group Operational Excellence team at Tessenderlo Group Headquarters. This technical, high-impact role offers a unique opportunity to partner with the process engineering teams across Tessenderlo Group’s Business Units to optimize return on OpEx projects, and to build a comprehensive understanding of our different businesses.

The role reports to the Head of OT & OpEx and is preferably based at our headquarters in Brussels with regular travel to manufacturing plants (15%). Homebase in alternative Tessenderlo Group locations in Europe will be considered.

  • You support OT leads and process engineers in the different Business Units to improve and further automate process control, based on process analytics, more specifically:
  • Participate in HAZOP and P&ID reviews for new or upgraded installations as required.
  • Develop blueprints for instrumentation and data systems in new, refurbished, and existing installations.
  • Utilize advanced analytics tools (, SEEQ) to derive insights from process data and support plant operations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and support local process and production teams globally to implement cost-effective solutions.
  • Lead larger or complex process engineering projects from design to implementation and commissioning. This covers instrumentation, process control philosophy, process design, process data retrieval, advanced analytics, etc. from the manufacturing installations.
  • Stay updated on the latest technologies and translate them into value-added applications.
  • Qualifications

  • You hold a bachelors or master's degree in engineering or similar by experience
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of relevant process engineering experience, in chemicals, food, pharma or other process industry.
  • You have deep knowledge of process engineering, instrumentation, automation and data analysis. Experience in advanced analytics tools (ex SEEQ) and/or Python programming language is a plus.
  • You have excellent analytical and problem solving skills and can present in a structured way
  • You can get things done, with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • You are able to take the lead for larger or complex process engineering projects from design till implementation & commissioning, if such request would be received from the business unit. You apply a proper project management method.
  • You are experienced in change management and have good coaching skills
  • You are able to work independently yet transparently and as a team player towards colleagues
  • You have an excellent command of English. Fluency in Dutch and/or French is a plus
  • You can work seamlessly with a variety of stakeholders in different time zones and cultures
