German Speaking Snr. Accountant / Cost Analyst
We wish to strengthen our accounting and financial reporting function in Northern Europe with a new Snr. Accountant. In this role you will not only participate in the day-to-day accounting, reporting and analysis operations of the German & Norwegian legal entities, but also participate in process improvement initiatives. The position reports to the Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting located in Oslo , Norway.
- Various tasks in the financial process including accounting, controlling, analysis, internal controls and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Provide financial insights and decision making support to internal stakeholders in budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Actively participate in improvement initiatives in accounting and reporting processes, ensure correct and efficient use of available tools.
- Prepare, verify, record and analyze financial transactions: Maintain accurate financial records ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Prepare and submit tax declarations and statistical information to authorities. Ensure proper filing of all relevant documents from an accounting perspective.
- Handle various administrative tasks related to finance and accounting as necessary to support the smooth operations of the department.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance or audit.
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting, auditing, or similar roles. Experience should ideally include exposure to multinational corporations and/or complex financial processes.
- Good knowledge of IFRS, or German GAAP, or Norwegian GAAP is a requirement. Knowledge of USGAAP is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills (mandatory) and PowerBI (desired) skills. Proficient in working with finance/ accounting ERP applications (preferably Microsoft D365).
- Knowledge of internal control frameworks and familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance standards is a plus
- Experience from and interest in international corporate tax/VAT and transfer pricing
- Experience from a manufacturing environment is a clear plus.
- English & German as business language is a key requirement, both spoken and written
