We are seeking a highly motivated fiber technology engineer to join our team at SII Belgium. The Fiber Technology Engineer will be responsible for designing, installing, testing, and maintaining fiber optic networks and devices. You would join various teams working in Agile mode for projects in the Telecom sector.

Key Responsibilities:
Improving the fiber configuration and examining how different technologies can be upgraded or optimized. Having a good understanding of PON technology is a strong advantage.
Establishing, maintaining and updating design standards to support the growth of the network and the products delivered with their failover solutions and agreed service levels.
Creating technical documentation to help the construction and maintenance teams, as well as their external partners such as training documentation, installation guidelines and measurement procedures.
Continually improve the materials used for building and maintaining activities.
Following new developments and investigating how innovation can create an impact.
Offer support to different units within the organization, and our partners. This involves providing help on design, consultation and help on installation of materials, direction on conducting quality assessments. The “train the trainer” approach is often used here.
Set up and improve regular reporting related to network infrastructure. Familiarity with inventory and GIS tools is a benefit
Qualifications:
You keep an up to date knowledge on fiber.

You are able to efficiently write and review complex documentation in English.

You are fluent in English. Dutch and/or French is an asset.

You have significant experience in the telecommunications sector, with broad fiber, design and construction knowledge.
You are familiar with QGIS and/or AutoCAD is an added value.
You have a Bachelor degree in a relevant field.
