Customs Analyst

We are currently looking for the following talent:

CUSTOMS ANALYST

As part of our Transport & Customs Team you are responsible to coordinate the full process of the customs formalities and procedures related to export/import, transit and bonded warehousing in view of our AEO certificate. You manage all activities and processes to maintain and evolve our ‘Bonded Warehouse’. You contribute to Graco’s goals of customer satisfaction, quality and productivity by ensuring cost-effective, timely and high quality customs operations.

ACTIVITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Bonded Warehouse Management
  • Control and improve our customs ERP system, called ‘Stream Software’ (ensure accurate interfacing of import / export transactions)
  • Maintain, adapt and evolve our customs licenses and certifications (simplified procedures, Authorised Economic Operator license, …)
  • Internal customs audits and follow-up of the AEO control program
  • Optimise savings on import duties
  • Determine and maintain the customs classification for all our products
  • Follow-up of the country of origin segregation process
  • Execute, coordinate and follow up on the periodical reporting and the budget related to customs, VAT and goods movements (quarterly Inward Processing Relief (IPR), scrap, …)
  • Manage our complete inventory from a customs perspective (‘Bonded’, ‘Free’ and ‘IPR’ product)
  • Ensure accurate interfacing and proper import- and export declarations
  • Accurate calculation of customs value, statistical and VAT value
  • Major contact with customs and handle customs inquiries as internal specialist
  • Follow-up the clearance of the customs documents together with customers, forwarders and customs entities
  • Stay up-to-date and follow-up on customs related trade compliancy regulations update/ implement internal processes and procedures when needed
  • Ensure good relations, coordination and co-operation with various parties: internal departments, transport companies, customs authorities, suppliers (intercompany), customers, within and outside Europe (EMEA) on a daily basis
  • Other duties as assigned
  • REQUIREMENTS

  • Education/Experience: For this role we are looking for a bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management or equivalent through experience.
  • Languages: You are fluent in Dutch and English, written and verbal. Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
  • Core skills: You have great experience with incoterms, customs formalities/legislation, VAT and logistical processes and a good knowledge of inventory managementKnowledge of customs legislation, import- and export documents – certificates – licenses in the context of the declaration processA good knowledge of a correct calculation of customs value, statistical and VAT valueGetting things done, flexibility, stress resistant, ability to work in a team and under pressure in a hectic environment and accountability, although you remain accurate, structured and now how to set prioritiesStress resistant and assertive when necessaryCommunication and organizational skillsYou have good practical skills in combination with a  can-do  mentality. You get things done and are always on the look to improve.Good knowledge of Microsoft office, advanced  Excel  is very preferableKnowledge of Stream Software is a plus
