Duties and Role:
Reporting to the NCIA Project Manager, and project representative at sites in scope
Conduct technical implementation activities on the ground, to ensure the strategic objectives of the WP2 project are achieved
Deliver accurate documentation of all deployment activities, enabling the smooth transition of technical capabilities into Service Operations
Co-ordinate with NATO entities to ensure supplier activities are delivered to expectations
Coordinate with NATO Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) Service Delivery Management Section to ensure all components are correctly registered in the NCSC CMDB
Provide periodic reporting (internal and external) and prepare ad hoc reports and assessments
Assure timely delivery and high quality of deliverables
Maintain communications with internal and external stakeholders
The implementation will be for longer than one week, and may require weekend working – so the resource will be required to remain in location for extended periods on an occasional basis
Tier-2 support at Mons during Tier-3 deployments may be required in support of WP1R implementation, configuration and testing tasks
Step in as the project representative to resolve issues in aspects such as logistics, decommissioning, site access, change management etc
Specific Working Conditions: Normal Office Conditions. As these are hands-on roles, the requirement is for on site only and there is limited or no possibility to work under Hybrid conditions.
Requirements
Skill, Knowledge & Experience:
The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
Experience of the installation, implementation, testing, documentation and transition to service operations of IT and cyber security hardware and software, specifically Dell Server Technologies, Hyperconverged Infrastructures (VMWare ESXi, VMWare VSAN and VMWare NSX-T), Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Dell Unity and EMC SAN/NAS technologies, and CISCO Nexus Switching.
Technical documentation writing (detailed state description of physical and logical configuration in datacentre environment)
Experience developing infrastructure migration plans and supporting documentation.
Successfully delivered low level system design documents across the full hardware and software stack.
Experience with the implementation of NATO, military or other communication and information systems.
Experience of field deployment of NATO cyber infrastructure
Cable management; cable tracing; cable labelling; cable documentation
Network documentation (Visio networking diagrams L2 and L3)
Datacentre documentation (room layout, physical, logical configuration)
System documentation (system specification, implementation details, configuration details)
System manual documentation (development of system installation manuals)
Development of training materials (targeted to system operators and engineers)
Proven ability to operate on own initiative
Proven ability to liaise with local site personnel (security, logistics, technicians, command)
Domain knowledge in cyber security area in a leadership role
Proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with good briefing skills
Experience with supporting Operational testing and service transition
Proactive attitude in seeking and maintaining trust from stakeholders
Able to work productively in a fast moving environment
Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements
Experience in delivering training to L1 and L2 engineering.
Desirable experience
CISCO networking (nexus or catalyst)
Juniper (srx) configuration (IPSEC VPN configuration in detail)
Data Diodes (High Availability configuration and SMTP configuration)
Certifications: Networking qualifications (Cisco, RSA etc.), VMWare qualifications, Microsoft qualifications, ITIL foundation
Linux experience
Operations environment experience (processes in OPS)
Change management processes (preferably NATO ITSM experience)
