Task Description
BICS is one of the world leaders in providing internationalcommunication connectivity and services (Voice, SMS, and Capacity), looking for an engineer to support our Voice and Cloud Communicationteams.
You will help us creating and deploying state of the artsolutions, using your expertise in voice technologies and SIP trunking. Ourprojects span the globe, meeting various business, technical, and regulatoryneeds. We like creative thinking and deliver solutions that are scalable andhigh performing.
As Solution Engineer, your responsibilities will be:
Lead and contribute to the analysis, design, development and implementation of network solutions and OSS systems (Operational Support Systems).
Implement solutions following defined objectives, budget, effort and timing while ensuring an optimal balance between third party vendor solutions and internal development and integration work.
Acting as a Network and Systems Engineer you evaluate systems performance level and propose enhancements to improve performance and capabilities when appropriate.
Acting as a Platform Owner you take up the end-to-end responsibility across the platform life cycle from requirements phase up to launch into production environment".
Participate in small to medium size implementation projects (from an end-to-end perspective), collaborating with different stakeholders (product management, operational teams, external suppliers and IT & network colleagues).
Your Profile
In depth understanding of network switching and voice routing technologies (VOIP, unified communications) as well as SIP, ENUM, Diameter and HTTP protocols.
Working knowledge on SIP-trunking implementation, session Border controllers and voice SIP routing engines, with 3 to 5 years experience.
Good knowledge on security concepts (designing secure APIs, SSL/TLS).
To be considered as plus: working knowledge on Metaswitch Perimeta SBC, Ribbon SBC (former Sonus SBC) and softswitch (former Sonus PSX), FreeSWITCH application server, API technologies, STIR SHAKEN framework, cloud deployment in Azure or Amazon.
Proactivity to take ownership, prioritise and drive to deliver.
Good analytical thinking & problem-solving skills, familiar with agile development processes and/or tools.
Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts and adapt them to the audience.
Good planning & organization skills.
