For our On-Premise infrastructure, we are looking for an experienced and seasoned Storage Area Network (SAN) engineer. You will design, implement and maintain an extremely performant and critical storage environment.
As a SAN Engineer you will play an important role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our storage systems. You will also be collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet the evolving needs of our organization and make sure the storage environment meets future requirements. You will be integrated in an infrastructure team with vast compute and storage environment(s), where a seasoned colleague will onboard you in the current storage setup. In the midterm you will be in the driving seat for the current and future storage solutions of Telenet.
Your tasks as our SAN Engineer
Design and Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of storage solutions based on business requirements. Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance storage capabilities (both in the private and public cloud). Control the lifecycle of the different components to make sure they are up-to-date
Implementation and Configuration: Deploy and configure storage systems and the Storage Area Network, but other storage technologies are a good nice-to-have. Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate storage solutions with existing.
Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize storage performance to ensure efficient and reliable operation. Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues promptly.
Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security measures to protect storage infrastructure. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning and forecasting to meet future storage requirements. Recommend and implement scalability solutions.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for storage configurations, processes, and procedures. Provide training and knowledge transfer to the reliability teams, who support the systems 24/7.

Your profile as our SAN Engineer
Experience: Proven track record as a Storage Area Network Engineer, with in-depth knowledge in SAN, NAS, storage virtualization and public cloud storage technologies. Experience with leading storage technology vendors, such as HPe, HDS, Broadcom, Emulex and public cloud hyperscalers. Strong understanding of best practices in storage environments relating to security, performance & capacity management Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to interact with your peers for complex integration challenges.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): At Telenet we emphasize on IaC principles for infrastructure management. You will play a key role in automating provisioning and configuration on the infrastructure you manage, using f.ex: Ansible, (Rest)-API’s, Python, …
