Your mission
You lead the analysis, development and implementation of new solutions or make evolve existing ones (i.e. based on business, operational or regulatory requirements,) on the Packet Core technical domain. You have the end-to-end responsibility for taking all the appropriate actions from the requirements to the move in production.
As a Senior Solutions Engineer – Packet Core, you will:
Analyze and assess technical solutions and evolution to fulfil business, regulatory and operational (functional and capacity) requirements
Lead medium to large size implementation projects and coordinate (and coach if necessary) a core team for the solution or evolution implementation
Write functional and technical specifications and requests for proposal.
Evaluate and make recommendations for the future considering the technical evolutions on the market
Define in collaboration with the supplier, the technical part of the contract (Scope of Work, Project Management Plan, Professional Services). Supports purchasing (i.e. cost of services) and analyze the requests for proposals (supplier selection).
Generate methods, procedure and technical documents regarding technical solution and evolution (architecture, impact analysis).
Conduct the implementation of the technical solutions (in collaboration with the integration engineers if needed)
Act as a technical interface with Orange Group, suppliers, other operators, regulatory institutions, to gather requirements and technical solutions, challenge Orange Belgium (OBE) or Group solutions
Analyze performance statistics/indicators, network behavior, operational processes, tools, and service architectures; identify gaps, problems and risks and make recommendations on improvement opportunities
Your profile
Bachelor degree in a telecommunications/IT technology or equivalent level of experience
Min. 5 years of experience in the technical domain Packet Core
Knowledge of Networks, Telecommunications, IT environment and IP protocols.
Experience with remote overseas operation teams (Europe)
Communication skills as well as listening skills
Customer orientated and service minded
Team player
Fluent English. Dutch or French will be a plus
Your specific expertise:
Packet Core :
Experience with:
Ericsson Dual Mode Core, EPG (S-PGW), SGSN-MME, WMG (ePDG), SAPC (PCRF), DNS (IP Works), ENM
Private Mobile Radio and B2B services over Mobile Packet Core
Experience with 5G SA features would be a plus
Experience with Signaling (DRF, SCP) would be a plus
Deep knowledge of:
Trends in networking industry and servers products (Dell)
Network Operations Support Systems and corresponding protocols (SNMP, Syslog, fault management, performance management, inventory, etc.)
Good knowledge of mobile telecommunication services and technologies
General :
Strong analytical skills including data collection and analyzing, reporting, problem handling etc.
Capable of finding and processing technical documentation and data
Experience with remote overseas operation teams (Europe)
Extensive knowledge and experience with project management
Specific requirement:
A positive security advice from the National Security Authority is required for this role and the HR team will support you in the process after contract signature.
