Rail Network Development Analyst

The Business Development department is responsible for defining business strategy, in line with corporate strategy. It is responsible for defining the structural strategic orientations that will enable us to achieve our medium- and long-term ambitions, considering fundamental changes in the market and customer expectations.

As Rail Network Development Analyst, you will perform strategic analyses in the field of transportation planning. Collaborating closely with Commercial, Financial and Operation teams, you will align these analyses with the business's strategic objectives. Your contributions will play a crucial part in shaping and constructing Eurostar's 20-year plan.

Internal use only: This is an EIL Grade E1 role, Travel Services Level 3, THIF Grade F, based in either our Kings Cross or Brussels Midi office, with hybrid working.

We are looking for someone to:

  • Lead the development of a comprehensive, long-term transport trajectory in partnership with the Operations team, ensuring alignment with our 20-year plan.
  • Build service offering scenario depending on major criteria (fleet availability, competition,..)
  • Evaluate revenue implications in response to changes in service offerings.
  • Play a key role in network development, encompassing the introduction of new fleets, assessment of new and existing routes, and the optimization of overall capacity.
  • Generate business case studies, conduct market research, and perform analysis to craft presentations tailored for C-Suite Level audiences.
  • Effectively communicate with operational and front-line teams to convey strategic insights and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • For the avoidance of doubt, this role is seeking profiles with Engineering and/or Commercial backgrounds and does not require IT expertise.

    Requirements

    You will need:

  • Demonstrable experience in a comparable role contributing to strategic projects
  • Strong understanding of commercial awareness
  • Background and key understanding in Engineering environment OR business & commercial setting
  • Experience in delivering presentations to non-technical and C-Suite level audiences
  • Interest in rail industry and optimisation
  • To be a problem solver, with creative and critical thinking abilities
  • Strong English communication skills both oral and verbal with French language skills a plus.
