IT Infrastructure Operations Manager

Responsibilities

The candidate will be part of the IT Infrastructure team, composed of 2 clusters: Rollout & Support (Operations) and Implementation & Lifecycle (Architecture). More specifically, he/she will be the manager of the Rollout & Support team.

The IT Infrastructure Rollout & Support team oversees all operational aspects of IT Infrastructure products (end-user devices, servers and other back-end systems, network) and is in charge of the end-to end monitoring of all IT products.
For IT Infrastructure solutions, the IT Infrastructure Operations Manager and his/her team:

  • Coordinate and execute rollout of new solutions, in accordance with release management governance.
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  • Proactively ensure the highest levels of availability, focusing on end-user experience and system uptime.
  • Execute changes or coordinate with third parties to have them executed, in accordance with release management governance.
  • Provide 3rd level support, troubleshooting issues and resolving incidents, in coordination with partners and other IT personnel.
  • Create and maintain procedures and automation to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time and error rate on any tasks.
  • For business-critical applications, the IT Infrastructure Operations Manager and his/her team:

  • Develop and implement an end-to-end monitoring and alerting strategy.
  • Oversee the deployment and maintenance of monitoring tools and systems.
  • Collaborate with various teams to understand their monitoring needs and ensure they are met.
  • Analyze monitoring data to identify trends and potential issues.
  • Coordinate incident response efforts and post-mortem analyses.
  • Continually improve monitoring coverage and effectiveness.
  • In this context, he/she will report to the IT Infrastructure Manager.

    Profile

    The candidate (m/f) should be able to demonstrate more than 8 years of experience in the IT world, mainly in Infrastructure, and have more than 3 years of practical experience in managing a team. 
    The future employee (m/f) will:

  • Have a Bachelor's degree, a preference in IT, or equivalent by experience.
  • Be assertive in communicating with colleagues and users, ensuring that everyone's ideas and interests are respected.
  • Possess the potential to acquire a good mastery of technical processes and an analytical approach based on multiple sources of information.
  • Ability to work effectively in situations that are likely to generate stress.
  • Be flexible in the face of changing priorities.
  • Be able to set and above all achieve objectives by estimating the load and planning tasks related to the evolution of demands and maintenance.
  • Be able to effectively manage external suppliers.
  • Demonstrate autonomy in the organization of his/her work, quickly discern issues, and see how to respond to them.
  • Be able to analyze an issue in a rigorous, precise and systematic manner, placing it in a broader context.
  • Demonstrate judgment and decision-making skills, providing well founded and practical advice and clearly defining the actions to be taken.
  • Ability to coordinate projects, facilitate groups and meetings.
  • Be comfortable with the office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
  • Preferably be in possession of Microsoft and ITIL certifications.
  • A good level of bilingualism is obviously an asset, but the candidate should at least have some knowledge of the other national language. Fluency in technical English is also required.
