Germany Junior Marine Electrical Plan Approval Engineer

RINA is currently recruiting for a Germany Junior Marine Electrical Plan Approval Engineer  to join its office in Hamburg within the Marine North Europe Region Division.

Mission

For this role, you will be responsible for design assessment of Ship Electrical installation and Automation plans related documents in accordance with statutory codes, RINA Rules & Regulations and International & National Standards in a consistent and timely manner for new buildings, conversion projects and Ship in Service.

Key Accountabilities

  • Review and approve drawings of electrical and automation systems, including autonomous ship technology and cyber security, on ships, offshore units, and marine equipment, in compliance with Class Rules and Statutory Regulations, for new buildings, ships in service, and ship’s conversions.
  • Assist clients during the design and construction phase, providing guidance and support related to electrical and automation systems on ships, including autonomous ship technology and cyber security.
  • Provide support for the elaboration of detailed marine engineering plan review, in compliance with applicable RINA rules, international conventions and contractual requirements.
  • Provide direct or indirect support to engineers or engineering teams by gathering data, submitting documentation to officials and other day-to-day duties.
  • Prepare the project deliverables (technical reports, project performance documentations and engineering drawings, etc.) .
  • Take ownership and responsibility over the financial progress of assigned tasks.
  • Manage simple projects assigned applying project management concepts and techniques.
  • Assess minor structural problems for internal/external clients to determine solutions with minimal supervision.
  • Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical / Marine Engineer or equivalent 
  • 1 – 3 years of relevant work experience 
  • Proficiency in English, fluent in German would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of relevant RINA Rules, statutory regulations and international standards
  • Experience with PAX and RO RO PAX will be an advantage
