Cloud Architect -- Azure / Hybrid Infrastructure

### About the Role

We are looking for an experienced **Cloud Architect** to design and guide secure, scalable, and reliable cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions within a complex public-sector environment.

### Key Responsibilities

* Design and validate **Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud architectures**.
* Develop cloud standards, landing zones, governance, and infrastructure strategies.
* Design **Azure networking**, including VNets, DNS, routing, firewalls, VPN and ExpressRoute.
* Define **cloud security and Identity \& Access Management** architectures, including Zero Trust, Entra ID and RBAC.
* Design solutions for **backup, disaster recovery, high availability and business continuity**.
* Support container platforms such as **Kubernetes, OpenShift and AKS**.
* Implement and promote **Infrastructure as Code and automation** using Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell or Azure CLI.
* Establish monitoring, logging and observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Defender for Cloud.
* Ensure effective integration between **on-premise infrastructure and cloud environments**.
* Provide architectural guidance, documentation and knowledge transfer to technical teams.
* Collaborate with infrastructure, security, networking, database and project teams.

### Requirements

* Expert-level experience with **Microsoft Azure Architecture** and hybrid infrastructure.
* Strong knowledge of Azure networking, cloud security and IAM.
* Extensive experience with **Terraform/Bicep and cloud automation**.
* Strong understanding of Kubernetes/container platforms.
* Experience with Windows/Linux servers, virtualization and enterprise storage.
* Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
* Dutch, French and English proficiency.

### Practical Information

* **Start:** 1 October 2026
* **Duration:** Until end of 2026, extendable
* **Workload:** Full-time (40 hours/week)
* **Location:** Brussels
* **Work model:** Hybrid -- minimum 2 days per week onsite
