Business Partner Procurement (Indirect)

As a Business Partner Procurement (Indirect) at DEME, your role is pivotal in enhancing procurement effectiveness within the organization. You'll drive the development, implementation, and uptake of strategic planning, category management, and procurement processes, particularly focusing on Indirect Categories such as HR, Facility Management, ICT, Car Fleet, Intellectual Services, Communication, and so on. Your responsibilities include engaging with internal and external stakeholders, guiding them through procurement processes, and ensuring adherence to defined procedures. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute category strategies and optimize sourcing, negotiation, supplier relationships, and contract management. Reporting to the Lead Category Manager for the procurement cluster of General Goods and Services, you play a key role in advancing overall procurement coverage and efficiency.

  • Procurement governance: ensure Indirect spend is procured via the right procurement channel, via the right procurement process and via the best contracts, compliant to company procedures and policies; drive adoption of procurement system functionalities;

  • Sourcing: support the development and implementation of procurement strategies to increase value added, improve service levels, optimize costs and mitigate risks; participate and/or execute selected sourcing projects;

  • Spend analysis: acquire new spend insights to share with procurement cluster managers and internal stakeholders, and take data-driven decisions;

  • Stakeholder management: bring together internal expertise in cross-functional teams and leverage these teams to ensure best sourcing results and early procurement involvement;

  • Negotiation: partner to internal stakeholders with structuring their negotiation strategies and actively participate in negotiations with a TCO focus;

  • Contracting: conclude and maintain one-off contracts and framework agreements in an iterative process with the legal department;

  • Supplier relationship management: support internal stakeholders in the management of their supplier network by introducing expertise on supplier segmentation, supplier evaluation, market research and leveraging competition.

  • Expertise: build solid category expertise and strong knowledge on procurement processes and system, and share that expertise with internal stakeholders;

  • Continuous improvement: support internal stakeholders with root cause analysis for recurring supply- or service issues, and drive adoption of procurement processes and systems by internal stakeholders;

  • Reporting: leverage data and track procurement performance by KPI’s and reporting.

  • Educational background: business administration, supply chain management, commercial engineering or similar;

  • Senior Category buyer/Junior Category Manager profiles with 5-8 years in procurement;

  • Experience with procurement of indirect categories;

  • Affinity for process implementation and improvement;

  • Experience in working with a R2P procurement suite (ideally Ivalua);

  • Emphasis on integrity and ethics;

  • Skilled in change management and communication;

  • Process-driven with a focus on data;

  • Strategic thinking and sourcing expertise;

  • Experience in R2P process execution;

  • TCO mindset;

  • Strong in supplier management and development, including selection, negotiation, and contracting.
