Business Analyst – Classic Life Insurance

Within the 'Life' division that manages life insurance products and processes (companies and private individuals) from product development and marketing through to product management, the 'Business Change & Monitoring’ department coordinates principally business projects with an IT impact that relate to legislative changes and new insurance solutions or that seek an improvement and/or an operational simplification. 

This team consists of a dozen colleagues who are waiting just for you! 

Your responsibilities

As Business Analyst – Life Insurance, you will be responsible for coordinating or managing projects that aim to optimise management processes for classic life insurance and other products and the migration of the life insurance portfolio (Universal Life and classic) to our systems or their development in accordance with the legal and regulatory framework.

At the same time, you will have the opportunity (depending on your profile) to implement and monitor the business through reporting activities. 

You are therefore responsible for:

  • Assisting the business in defining its needs and requirements and formalising them in defined standard documents. 

  • Analysing the systems in place and evaluating the impact of the various projects on these systems and processes.

  • Understanding and identifying gaps in our universal and classic life portfolios (in the case of portfolio migration or developments in the legislation) and proposing integration/adaptation solutions, including actuarial calculations to convert policies in targeted systems.

  • Cooperating effectively with various players (IT, Operations, Business, Distribution, etc.) and developing a relationship of trust with your internal clients and suppliers.

  • Ensuring project follow-up, coordinating the players, communicating regularly on project progress and ensuring that developments are in line with the needs identified.

  • Preparing and executing the various tests (processes and calculations) to ensure the quality and reliability of developments. 

  • Following up any identified bugs through to total resolution.

  • Documenting change transparently and exhaustively.

  • Accompanying change by drawing up communication and training material and training and informing end users.

  • Managing project aftercare through to resumption of management by the IT teams. 

  • Following up the Life business through the reports that you submit and whose results you interpret. 

  • Your profile

  • You have at least a university diploma (bachelor level), preferably in mathematics, information technology or economic sciences, or equivalent experience.

  • You have 5 years' experience in the life insurance sector or in banking investment products. A knowledge of classic life insurance products is desirable.

  • You are a native French or Dutch speaker with good command of the other national language and are able to work in English. 

  • You are proficient in MS Office with good knowledge of BPMN . Knowledge of SQL is a plus. You also have experience of drafting business requirements.

  • You are able to create, monitor and interpret business reports in the life insurance sector. 

  • You can communicate easily with all kinds of interlocutor, both orally and in writing, and have experience of change management. 

  • You have an analytical mind and are comfortable with figures (ability to understand complex actuarial figures).

  • You are customer and solution oriented.

  • You are meticulous, organised and results are your aim.

  • You work well under pressure and can meet tight deadlines. 

  • You have of course a team spirit.
