Automation Engineer (Electrical)

About the role

You will work closely with the Global Design manager, design engineers, designers and technology experts. You contribute to the continuous improvement of our technology and to new developments. With your knowledge and commitment, you will grow into a global expert who helps to realize important design projects in a team.

Your area of ​​responsibility:

  • You are creative, innovative and enterprising in the development (R&D) and optimization of both existing and new processes and machines. By integrating new technologies, you help to develop the equipment of the future.
  • You convert the technology and business requirements into design and process concepts. You work out these concepts with a team of designers and experts. In some cases, you will work with external partners to design, develop or build new technology or machines.
  • You are a real team player and together with the local management, you will guide the designers in our engineering entities worldwide (Belgium, India, Slovakia, Brazil and China).
  • If necessary, you make visits to foreign engineering entities or production factories.
  • You also have a continuous eye for the development of technology in the industry
  • About you:

  • You have master degree in Industrial engineering control technology / automation / mechatronics
  • You have a number of years of experience in machine design
  • You have a passion for machine control and are willing to delve into it
  • You have a good knowledge of C programming language and one of the IEC -3 PLC programming languages
  • Knowledge of drive technology
  • Knowledge of microprocessors, real-time operation and control systems
  • Knowledge of industrial networks and associated protocols
  • Knowledge of processing sensor data and using it for problem analysis and machine control
  • You share knowledge and insights with colleagues
  • You are analytical, creative & problem-solving
  • You take initiative
  • You are communicative and are willing to work in an international context, traveling for shorter periods
  • You have a good knowledge of English
