Goal of the role

As Infrastructure Engineer you are in charge of managing the technical platform and the infrastructure underlying it. Your objectives are to maintain services in an operational condition and ensure safety and efficiency. You are expected to carry out studies contributing to projects and deploying technical solutions.

You will participate in a continuous improvement initiative and acting as the contact person for suppliers in order to manage the technical aspects. You will actively contribute to the transition of moving from a classical on premise infrastructure to cloud oriented solutions.

Ensuring the Run activities

You manage a wide range of hardware, system software and network components that form part of the infrastructure within your scope (Belgium and The Netherlands).

You are expected to diagnose any failures occurring and act as the Incident/Problem manager. It’s your task to assess and remediate risks, notably those linked to the continuation of the service.

In that context you will be lead to liaise with Infra counterparts at the Head Office/Group acting as support level 2/3 and deploy the infrastructure/cybersecurity roadmap.

You are involved in the analysis of queries from users, evaluation of the options, recommendations on solutions and acting as the first and second point of contact for users on network and system

You will deal with the security aspects of the IT systems and networks and will contribute to Database related operations, with the aim of ensuring the security of the network/system.

You are the backup of the other Infra Engineer within the Dept.

Within your scope of work you will be lead to interact with internal/external clients, Head office counterparts as well as external suppliers

Contribution to transformation

You contribute to transformation projects and deploy technical solutions by participating in discussions on the development of infrastructure within your scope (Belgium and the Netherlands).

You are also responsible for defining the impacts on production/support.

In collaboration with the business lines, you are responsible for deploying the most appropriate technical solutions.

Your participation in automating recurring operating actions and optimising the server environments is of key essence. Transforming current activities by adopting an orchestrated/structured approach. We expect you to be open to new solutions and prospects for developing the technologies, tools and methodologies used.
