This individual will work closely with internal and external global resources in developing electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical (Mechatronic) components and systems to be utilized across various Agricultural (Ag) and Construction Equipment (CE) platforms.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include oversight of Product Development and Project Management for Mechatronic Actuation components. Overall responsibility includes electrical/electronic component subject matter expert, development of component requirements based on stakeholder input, technical evaluation of supplier solutions, assist purchasing in sourcing, oversee the co-development process, and work with Vehicle Integration team in support of the launch of the new component on the targeted vehicle platform. Additional responsibilities include maintaining technology roadmaps as well as maintaining the engineering of existing components quality and reliability issues.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for technical evaluations, assessments, and recommendations for robustness of the electrical/electronic/electro-mechanical components and systems within company specified standards, processes, and protocols. Responsible for, and contributes to establishing design verification test plans, evaluation of test data, and approval of verification test reports. Responsible for ongoing evolution and continuous improvement of electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical subject matter. This may involve design guidelines and test procedures as part of component engineering standardization. Responsible for leading actuation component roadmaps and related innovation strategies. Responsible for subject matter standardization in the Ag & CE sectors by promoting communization of components across vehicle platforms. Responsible for initiating and owning all related Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO) by working closely with both internal design teams and external supplier (design support) teams. Responsible for maintaining component catalog and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of the subject matter quality performance.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field. 3 years of electro-mechanical engineering experience working within a product development environment or manufacturing setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Requirements Knowledge: experience writing requirements and specifications for electrical and/or electronic hardware. Qualification Knowledge: experience verifying compliance with requirements and validating acceptability of electrical and/or electronic hardware. Electro-Mechanical Design: training and/or experience designing at least one of the following: electrical hardware, electronic hardware, electrical/electronic transducers, electrical actuators, electrohydraulic components, enclosures for electrical/electronic components. Embedded Electronics Design: training and/or experience embedded electronic systems and/or subsystems design. EE Component Cost Driver Knowledge: experience optimizing electrical/electronic/electro-mechanical components or systems designs for cost. System Verification and Validation: experience verifying compliance with requirements and validating acceptability at the system level. Electrical/Electronic Component/System Reliability Issue Resolution: training and/or experience resolving reliability issues at the component and/or system level using techniques such as 8D and 5 Why. Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing: training and/or experience designing and/or optimizing manufacturing of actuation components / systems. A master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field. Experience in management and implementation of Product Life Management (PLM) and Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems (TcAE and Creo (MCAD), Capital (ECAD) are used). Ability to solve problems. In depth knowledge within: Global Product Design and Development, component and system testing, DFMEA, PFMEA, and Failure analysis. Experience in Project Management (PMO) Must possess strong communication skills and ability to engage and correspond with global network of teams, colleagues, and interfaces. Strong personal ownership and focus to meet deliverables Communication skills in foreign languages preferred but not required. OEM experience or Tier 1 experience preferred but not required. 5 years of electro-mechanical engineering experience preferred Experience in Off-Highway vehicle components and end customer usage of these vehicle
