Manufacturing Engineer

Reports to: Operations Manager


  • Develop and revise manufacturing process documentation including material specifications, component and assembly drawings, and work instructions
  • Support new product development from concept through launch by specifying, designing, and implementing manufacturing protocols
  • Support production operations by trouble shooting and repairing automated assembly and packaging equipment
  • Improve existing manufacturing processes and equipment to increase yield and reduce labour by specifying or designing the change, determining the return on investment, and implementing the change including commissioning and validation.
  • Investigate manufacturing yield or product nonconformance issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions
  • Lead or participate in the development of Process FMEAs.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and process control techniques to support business goals.
  • Establish and maintain manufacturing engineering KPIs


  • Write quality documents correlated to manufacturing engineering
  • Write and execute on non-conformities, complaints, CAPAs and CRs
  • Implement equipment, integrate specific interfaces, and trouble shoot engineering issues
  • Construct working models using CAD and prototyping techniques. Test design concepts by computerized modelling or physical hands-on testing
  • Train new staff f. Represent the manufacturing engineering team
  • Execute internal and external audits from a manufacturing engineering perspective
  • Execute manufacturing engineering purchases
  • Execute on equipment and system validation including authoring and executing IQ, OQ, and PQ protocols
  • Manage multiple tasks and deliverables

Functional Requirements:

  • Diploma / degree Bachelor Engineering, or equal by experience. Master degree is considered a plus.

Essential know-how

  • Experience with designing or specifying, purchasing, commissioning, and debugging assembly and packaging equipment
  • Experience with equipment and system validation including IQ, OQ, and PQ
  • Experience developing and driving continuous improvement of manufacturing processes
  • Ability to independently interpret machine manuals, electrical schematics, mechanical design drawings, and ladder logic/machine controls Quality Management systems, ISO13485 is considered a plus
  • Experience with Creo.
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma g. Medical know-how, medical sector
  • Technical, scientific and numerical skills i. Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and detailed oriented


i. English: Excellent writing, reading, conversation

ii. Dutch: Good writing, reading, conversation iii. Other: not necessary, but considered a plusĀ 


  • Working in an ISO certified environment
  • Writing technical reports
  • Methodical approach to work & writing protocols
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including previous experience with Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, and root cause analysis
